FOOD & BEVERAGES

A number of food vendors will be available onsite. There will be an emphasis upon ensuring a variety of selections are available, including healthy and allergy friendly options. Families are welcome to bring a packed lunch, however takeaway food and beverages purchased prior to arriving will not be permitted and must be consumed in the carpark before entry.

CHILD SUPERVISION & LOST CHILDREN

Children are required to be supervised at ALL times. They will not be permitted to participate in any zone without an adult present. At any time that a crew member becomes aware of this not occurring, security will be called and the child will be removed from the zone and re-located to the lost child area at the festival information desk until collected. This will be strongly enforced for the safety and enjoyment of both the child and other festival attendees.

In the event where a crew member is notified of a lost child, the festival will be locked down with no attendees able to exit until said child is located. When there is a lost parent, the child will be taken to the information desk until the parent is found.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

As we are expecting a wide range of weather forecasts for Melbourne in the first week of July, the entire festival is undercover and protected from the elements. Therefore, regardless of the weather, the festival will run and no refunds will be available for inclement weather. We highly recommend rugging up, as many of the festival zones are still outdoor and are subject to the cold – we are afterall The Big Freeze!

FAMILY ROOM

A family room will be available for parents and carers to use in the main building. It will include facilities for breast feeding, bottle warming, baby change and toys to entertain siblings. A baby change table is also located in the main toilet block (handicap toilet) between the two arenas.

FIRST AID

The first aid station will be located inside the main building, with access from the outdoor arena. Please present to our trained staff with any issues that require attention.

LOST PROPERTY

Lost property will be stored at the information desk during the festival and held for one week post event. Enquiries can be made via  or send us a message via our Facebook page. Any items not claimed within this timeframe will be given to our charity partner Mums Supporting Families in Need.

We anticipate families will take on average 2-3 hours to enjoy all the different activities at The Big Freeze. We recommend planning your visit to suit the interests of your children.
